Tamil Theni contest is to motivate children for whom Tamil is not the first language in their community and school (Children living in the US).
Contest is open to children living in US and Canada.
Contestants must be attending a registered Tamil school for the last 2 years.
Registered Tamil School is one that is either registered with CTA (California Tamil Academy) or ATA (American Tamil Academy), or a registered non-profit entity teaching Tamil for at least 2 years.
All contestants must have lived in US for at least last 2 years.
Contestants representing School must have been living permanently in the US from at least age 4 onward.
Contestants can only register for one Level.
Age eligibility as of July 1st of the contest year is listed in the content format section. Eg. Children born after Jun 30, 2016 will be less than 9yr as of Jul 1, 2024 and will qualify for Theni-1.
As the final will be happening in person in North Carolina on July 4th long weekend, please ensure your availability to go to NC in person along with your child. If you have any plans to go on a vacation, please don't enroll your child this year.
If your child is selected for Finals and you are traveling to NC, Tamil School will sponsor the ticket fare and details around incentive amount and plans will be shared later
